CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION UPDATE FOR OUR PATIENTS 06/08/2020

Wimpole Road Dental Practice Update 6th August 2021

We are continuing to work safely through the pandemic. We prioitise all appointments and we are required to carry out risk assessments on every patient as we continue working to guidelines from regulatory bodies such as Public health England, the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners and the CQC. This means that our procedures and processes have not changed since restrictions were lifted last month.
Those of you who have needed to visit us have seen a different looking Wimpole Road dental practice and the feedback tells us that although the journey through the practice was different you were well cared for as always.
We are still operating under a closed/locked door policy, therefore please DO NOT come to the practice unless an appointment has been arranged for you by phone or email.

NHS Patients
We are working through our backlog of patients and seeing our patients with current dental emergencies.
If you have an urgent dental problem please call us on 01206 796326 between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Monday to Friday and you will speak to a receptionist who will pass your details on to a Dentist for triage. If your emergency is out of usual hours, please phone NHS 111.
Dr Arowojolu and Mrs Fordyce are now seeing patients for routine appointments. If you are one of their patients and would like to book an appointment with them, please call reception and they will go through your medical history with you.  Please let reception know if you are having any problems and this will help us give you the correct appointment.

Denplan Patients
We are continuing to prioritise patients who have current dental emergencies and are gradually completing treatments on those patients who had emergencies and problems earlier in the pandemic.
We have to risk assess every patient but we are seeing patients for routine examinations and our hygienists are working as well.
Please bear with us as all patient appointments are longer than usual because of more decontamination procedures.
In addition to more decontamination, when we use our fast drills they create aerosols and we need to allow a fallow period at the end of the appointment before the surgery can be fully decontaminated. To give you an example a 30 minute filling appointment needs another 45 minutes before it is safe for the next patient to enter, We are all working hard and we will always abide by our profession's guidelines. We are sure you will understand if you have to wait a little longer for non urgent treatment appointments.
If you wish to book an appointment for a check up or have an emergency please contact us on our usual number
01206 796326 during office hours.
If you have an urgent problem outside office hours including weekends and bank holidays please call 07915 566 875 and leave a brief message with your name and phone number and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
This number is for Denplan patients only.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. This Pandemic is far from over and the delta variant is highly transmissible. I continue to be proud of the way the staff are working to keep themselves and you, our valued patients, safe when you attend the practice.
